Old North State Council

Welcomes New Guilford District Executive

Greensboro, NC | March 6, 2025,

Randall Cress will serve as the next Guilford District executive. His official start date is Thursday, March 6, 2025. He will attend the Guilford District roundtable that evening.

Randall is an Alamance District Eagle Scout who enjoyed Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and Sea Scouts. He also served a short tenure on the Cherokee Scout Reservation Waterfront staff teaching Sailing.

Randall will complete his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at UNCG this summer where he has held leadership roles in the Management Consulting Club, Beyond Sports, and as a UNCG Career Coach focusing on the guidance and development of transfer students.  He has participated in strategy-based research projects for the Charles Aris company and Kogi Environmental and enjoys outdoor activities along with Science Fiction.

We elected to immediately employ Randall while he still has a few hours to complete at UNCG because of his strong resume of scouting, his demonstrated leadership experience in college, and his ability to elevate himself above a group of other applicants.  In addition, this allows Randall the opportunity to get an early orientation to ONSC operations and most importantly provides immediate support to our Guilford District Scouts, units, families, and volunteers.

Because Randall has some final college work to complete, he will initially have an hourly schedule and be employed as a District AssociateHis schedule allows ample time to serve the district and upon graduation and BSA orientation, we will transition him to the role of Commissioned District Executive (August 2025)

Welcome, Randall Cress, to the Old North State Council professional team.
