Attention Cub Packs
Be Prepared for Spring Outdoor Adventures – Who Is Your BALOO-Trained Adult Leader
Cub Packs, as you are making plans for fun, overnight, outdoor adventures with your pack, remember that your Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation BALOO-trained leader must be present for the entirety of the camping trip.
Many of our packs already have at least one adult leader who is BALOO-trained.
Cub Scout’s best practices suggest that packs should have several adult leaders who have completed the BALOO training.
We highly recommend that all Arrow of Light den leaders complete BALOO training. Under the updated Cub Scout program, when the Arrow of Light den goes camping with the Scouts BSA troop, the camping trip must follow the Cub Scout camping requirements outlined in the Gude to Safe Scouting, which means at least one of the den leaders on the camping trip must be BALOO-trained.
There is an opportunity to complete BALOO training prior to the Spring – Feb 21-22 at Cherokee Scout Reservation.
