Eagle Scout Royce Allegretto
Wins Council Service Project of the Year Award
Royce Allegretto, an Eagle Scout from Troop 4009 in Burlington, has been named the recipient of the prestigious Glen and Melinda Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award for the Old North State Council.
Allegretto’s outstanding service project involved a partnership with SAFE: Southern Alamance Family Empowerment, a vital food pantry distribution center in Alamance County. SAFE’s mission focuses on empowering individuals and strengthening families by providing compassionate food assistance, building community relationships, and identifying additional needs within the community.
For her Eagle project, Allegretto led efforts to revitalize SAFE’s facility, including:
- Repainting the building’s exterior front
- Creating and adding a new mural
- Refreshing the organization’s food drop box

This comprehensive renovation not only improved the physical appearance of this important community resource but also helped enhance SAFE’s visibility and accessibility to those in need.
Allegretto’s exceptional project has earned her recognition at the council level and now advances to compete at both territory and national levels. This achievement represents the pinnacle of Scouting service and demonstrates the significant impact young leaders can have in their communities.
