Three Steps to Becoming a Trained Leader

All adult leaders are first required to take Youth Protection Training. When that is completed, training for each position in Cub Scouting is available on-line. There are additional training courses available in your local area. Visit www.scouting.org/training/ for more details.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

BALOO

A BALOO-trained leader is required for every pack camping event. BALOO is divided into two parts:

Part 1: An online module that must be completed prior to arriving at camp.
Part 2: Instructor-led that occurs face-to-face at camp.

(IOLS) is required for all Scoutmasters and Assistants to be fully trained and gives adult leaders the practical knowledge they need to help Scouts to learn outdoor skills.
